Most voters continue to hold negative views of Sarah Palin and doubt that she has the qualifications to be president, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Despite Palin being a nearly ubiquitous presence in campaign 2010, public opinion of the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee remains fixed in time.
Some 54 percent of registered voters surveyed say they have unfavorable impressions of Palin, with more than twice as many holding "strongly unfavorable" as holding "strongly favorable" ones. Thirty-nine percent view her positively. These numbers are little changed from earlier this year.
Palin gets very high marks from those who are strong backers of the tea party movement, but overall inspires a more intense negative than positive reaction. Fully 78 percent of liberal Democrats hold "strongly unfavorable" views of Palin, while 37 percent of conservative Republicans have "strongly favorable" impressions. Among solid tea party supporters, 72 percent say they are strongly positive about Palin (she's at 91 percent overall favorability among this group).
Solid tea party supporters are also the most apt to say Palin is qualified to serve as president at 73 percent. That contrasts with 67 percent of all registered voters who see her as not qualified to hold the office, a figure that's hardly budged since spring.
Democrats and independents are broadly skeptical of Palin's presidential qualifications, while Republicans divide evenly (47 percent say she is qualified; 46 percent say not). Even 46 percent of those who say they voted for the McCain-Palin ticket in 2008 now see Palin as unqualified for the presidency. Q: Do you have a favorable or unfavorable impression of Sarah Palin? Q: Do you feel that way strongly or somewhat?

Washington Post.Com By: Felicia Sonmez February 4, 2011 Rand Paul Lone Dissenter In Laser-Pointer Vote Kentucky Republican Sen. Rand Paul was the sole "no" vote Thursday night on a measure that would make it a federal crime to aim a handheld laser pointer at an aircraft.
The measure, offered by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.) as an amendment to a measure on funding the Federal Aviation Administration, passed on a 96-to-1 vote, with three senators not present.
It would call for anyone who knowingly aims the beam of a laser pointer at an aircraft to face fines or a prison term of up to five years.
Paul told reporters after Thursday's vote that he believed the laser-pointer issue was one best handled by the states, not the federal government.
"There are a lot of states that already have laws, and I think states ought to take care of it" , Paul said.
The laser-pointer vote marked the second time in the past week that Paul voted "no" on a measure supported by the vast majority of his Senate colleagues.
Last Thursday, Paul joined with fellow Senate Tea Party Caucus members Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) and Mike Lee (R-Utah) as well as Sen. John Ensign (R-Nev.) to oppose a rule change that would end the practice of secret holds. That measure passed 92-to-4.
While the 112th Congress is only one month old, Paul's early "no" votes echo the voting record of his father, Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas), who has frequently been the lower chamber's lone dissenter on measures that he believes overstep Congress' constitutional authority. __________ 'S'

By: E. Gray April 14, 2011Will Trump tell the Tea Party "YOU'RE FIRED!" Rest assured, when he does depart the Presidential scene, as he surely will, he will do so wealthier and more famous than he was before, and most of that wealth and undeserved fame will come from the bank accounts of the poor Tea Party proletariat, who will turn around one day and wonder what the hell happened.
I'm betting on the latter actually. There really is nothing 'The Donald' will do unless he stands to profit from it, and once again, the sad Tea Party prolitariat don't seem to realize they are being exploited by the wealthy and the powerful who could give a rat's ass about them, their concerns, or the country for that matter.
A perfect example of just how idiotic the Tea Party is being if they actually believe that trump gives a damn about them or what they stand for, consider this as reported in the Crowley Political Report ... "It is hard to believe that Donald Trump has become a darling of the Tea Party. There is nothing in Trump's background that would suggest he should be this popular with a family values, economically thrifty, Tea Party supporter. Trump is on wife number three. His gaudy lifestyle certainly does not suggest thrift, and when he speaks about issues it is clear that it has been many years since he read a book." But hey, why sweat the details, right?
Nope, all the man with the hair hat (and an ego so strong he doesn't realize how ridiculous he looks) has to do is spout the perfuntory 'Obama is a socialist muslim born in Kenya who is responsible for all of the debt the country has amassed lo these last 50 years and he's destroying our way of life' nonsense, and the Tea Party gets all gooey eyed and swoons before the 'new chosen' one who will lead them to glorious victory where all Americans will be forced to conform with the Tea Party agenda or risk being excommunicated or banished as non-believers.
Of course, what no one seems to realize, or remember, is that running for President, or any political office for that matter, is really, REALLY hard work.
It requires a candidate to basically travel continuously for months on end, and not to glamorous and luxurious locations.
Nope, its stop after stop in East Gabib Iowa or New Hampshire, places where there are no runways for Learjets, and the best accommodations are not at Trump Towers Resort but at a Days Inn.
Its hour after hour of campaign stops in musty high schools auditoriums, or union halls and community centers, shaking the hands and kissing the babies of the middle-class masses and commoners who can't afford to even step foot in a Trump property, let alone connect with the mogul who runs the empire they're part of.
I don't know about you, but it's hard to envision Donald lower his standards so dramatically, and it is hard to imagine the electorate accepting and believing in a candidate they cannot get close to orconnect with in ways that go well beyond TV appearances and staged events in major venues.
Let's now forget what happened to the last couple of 'BIG NAME' saviors who were going to take the mantle as the new Reagan of the GOP and lead the party to glory, namely good old boy and former TV star Fred Thompson, and the hero of 9/11 and media star Rudy Guiliani.
Greeted with fanfare and made favorites by the empty suits and talking heads of the media and the political punditry, both soon discovered that successfully running a campaign for the Presidency of the United States took a lot of time, a lot of effort, alot of work, a lot of thinking, a lot of talking, a lot of hard travel, a lot of long days and long nights, and a helluva lot of fund raising.
And given where they came from, and lifestyles to which they were accustomed, it all ended up not being worth all the effort and work demanded of them, and they slithered quietly into the distance, to never be heard from again.
The only difference with Donald Trump is that he won't slither quietly away.
Rest assured, when he does depart the Presidential scene, as he surely will, he will do so wealthier and more famous than he was before, and most of that wealth and undeserved fame will come from the bank accounts of the poor Tea Party proletariat, who will turn around one day and wonder what the hell happened. ____________ __ 'S '

By: E. Gray May 15, 2011Tenn. Tea Party Wants Slavery Removed From History Textbooks “Can anyone any longer question the fact that the Tea Party is now the gravest threat there is to our country? I thought not.”
The Tea Party of Tennessee wants to remove incidents of slavery and genocide from American textbooks for fear they would besmirch the image of the Founding Fathers: [ The Memphis Commercial Appeal reports ] As a result, the Tea Party organizations argue, there should be “no portrayal of minority experience in the history which actually occurred shall obscure the experience or contributions of the Founding Fathers, or the majority of citizens, including those who reached positions of leadership.” “The thing we need to focus on about the Founders is that, given the social structure of their time, they were revolutionaries who brought liberty into a world where it hadn’t existed, to everybody — not all equally instantly — and it was their progress that we need to look at,” Rounds explained of his interpretation of the legacy of the Founding Fathers. The issue of revising curriculums to teach history in a manner that encourages the glossing over of the uglier factors of the past has popped up in other states over the past year. Great, let’s allow them to set Civil Rights and our country back 250 years.
You can read the whole sad story HERE.Can anyone any longer question the fact that the Tea Party is now the gravest threat there is to our country?

(( The Tea Party & Fox News ))Is it time to start calling their spiritual leader…GLENNSANA BIN BECKDEN?By: E. Gray April 24, 2010The Tea Party: More Like Al-Qaeda by the Day! One does have to wonder what is in the minds of the Tea Party. Really … What are they thinking? Listen folks, I know about disappointment, and losing when you felt you had a moral imperative to win. Hell, I grew up in Cleveland and I’m a lifelong Browns, Cavaliers and Indians fan. I lived through the Drive, the Fumble, the shot by Jordan and the other shot by Jordan, Jose Mesa’s 9th inning melt down in Game 7 of the 1997 World Series, and the Cavaliers choke versus the Magic just last year. Yea, I’ve seen my share of heartbreaks and gut wrenching losses. But at my lowest I never threatened the fans of the winning team with death and destruction. I never spit on them. I never went to their homes and severed gas lines, threw bricks thru their windows, or left messages on their voice mail promising them they would die. I know, I know…how can I compare the loss of a pro sports team to the Armageddon of the Health Care reform bill, which will bring the Republic down and represents the end of times. Well, the truth is, none of those things that Republicans, Glenn Beck, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity or any of the other extremists have claimed will be a result of the healthcare reform passing, will actually come true. So at the end of the day, what the sadly stupid core of the Tea Party is left with is really something that is similar to their favorite team losing the Super Bowl. Why do I say that? Because only 48 hours after the vote to pass the Healthcare Reform, many of those that led the charge that enraged the Tea Party, the leaders in the GOP who raged against death panels, are now subtly shifting their positions and claiming they helped contribute to parts of the bill that they think will help them get re-elected. So, much like a disappointing end to a championship season, the fans feel betrayed, but the team and the players move on to the next season and the next game. The problem for the GOP is what they are now left with. The insurance companies, pharma companies, and other rich fat cats on Wall St., accomplished what they wanted; they ramped up a core of Americans who usually pay more attention to voting for American Idol than they do voting for their elected representatives, and who will soon figure out that what they railed against are the things that will help them most. And as they were doing it, the CEO’s, the Lobbyists and the politicians pulling the strings were laughing their asses off. But now, it has vectored out of control. The insane ranting of Glenn Beck (just watch Jon Stewart of the Daily Show reveal the insanity), the extreme hyperbole of Limbaugh, and the serial lying of Fox News will not stop. And the Tea Party folks, so enraged and so indoctrinated by the pied pipers from Fox and the GOP, will not stand aside and move on quietly to the next season. No…they actually believed the lies and disinformation they were fed. They actually think the nonsense about death panels, socialism and the death of our country will come true. And consistent with their limited ability to process complex thought, their default is to turn to that which they understand best … 'KICK ASS BABY'! So now we have bricks thrown through windows of government facilities, death threats on voice mail, gas lines cut at the homes of government officials, and congress members being spit on and called vile names. In other words, what we have is a de-centralized group of loosely affiliated cells across the country, following the Fox News and Heritage Foundation version of a fatwa, delivered by spiritual leaders wrapped in messianic fantasies, all dedicated to the destruction of American property and democratic institutions, as well as the murder of American citizens. What do you call that? Will Glenn Beck, Bill O’Reilly, John Boehner, or any of the other cheerleaders of this madness step up and say enough is enough? Well, to quote the aforementioned Mr. Boehner … "HELL NO!" And why should they? They are still making millions and getting fat and rich on the backs of the ‘proletariat’ who they twist into doing their dirty work while keeping their hands relatively clean and raking in the money. Wake up Tea Party people. Stop being used and abused. Your movement is in a death spiral, so you might as well accept it and go back to watching American Idol. They were only using you for their gain, and it will only hurt you in the long run. Bull Shit Artist_____________ 'S'
