All eyes stay on Fay, as it continues to push through Central Florida. Flooding has been the largest impact so far, with some areas picking up 10 inches of rain, already. Another possibility, tornadic development, came true Tuesday, in the Barefoot Bay area of Brevard County. During the early morning hours, most of us will stay under a tornado watch as Fay's rainbands push onshore. Winds may gust up to 25 to 30 mph later Wednesday, as the center of Fay moves offshore. Forecast tracks now have the storm strengthening to a Category 1 hurricane, before making landfall, once again, in northeast Florida. Rain chances will stay high through the rest of the workweek, before getting back to normal this weekend. As most of you know, I live in a, single home, residential section of Daytona Beach approx. 2 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. The weather here as been relatively mild so far. However I expect that to change drastically within a few hours so I will be trying to get some sleep before the heavy winds and rains arrive. Above is a link to the main radar site for this area. There are thumbnails for various counties and mine is VOLUSIA county. We've had several power interuptions within the last 2 hours and I have heard two transformers 'blow' somewhere nearby. I want to get this posted before I lose it to another interuption. I will keep this topic updated 'as need be' from this end. It's beginning to rain heavy now. C'Ya .. __ 'S'

So far things with Fay have been rather uneventfull.
As you can see, from the radar link above, I am very close to the edge of 'the eye of the tiger' and it looks like the center is heading straight for me!
I expect lots of wind & gusts but so far there hasn't been much rain at all and the trees haven't begun to split or shed their limbs yet.
There is a high probability that I will lose either the electrical service or cable service (broadband) and my generator is 55 miles away at my sons home in St. Augustine.
All in all Fay will most likely not be as bad as the media makes it out to be.
.. Stay Tuned .. __ 'S'

Spider, you still with us?
I've been keep an eye on this situation very closely; My sister-in-law lives in Orange County, I always worry when a storm heads toward Florida.
I don't want the twisters, but I wish old Fay would head up our way and hang around for a few days. We still may get some of the rain from her if she ever makes up her mind on where she is headed.

Yep .. I ain't dead yet !!!
Things have been relatively quiet here except for occassional heavy rains and gusty winds.
Had a couple of brief power and cable interruptions though.
The power has been off across the street from me for a couple of hours.
I've been setting the pc up for dial-up cause the cable (modem) is usually the first to go.
The latest landfall report sez; Landfall around 8am, with 60mph winds, right here where I live !!!
I think things have calmed down in Orange Cnty now.
The radar link is from Orange Cnty and it probably has news links that you can access for further locale information.
Thanks for your interest ... __ 'S'

I feel okay about it all Cobra because the worst should be during the daylight hours and that's much better than total darkness. I kinda like being in the midst of storms. (that I can see into) As a youngster on the rocky Maine & NH seacoasts I would enjoy the powers of nature by going up on cliffs, with the ocean below, and marvel at the wonders of lightning, wind and water. .. It's not so exciting here though .. It's mostly just rain, trees flying around, no electricity and waiting for the roof to come off. ;D Guess I'm getting old since it doesn't excite me as much as it used too. God has always been on my side Thanks for your prayers and thoughts. __ 'S'

I like storms too but I am terrified of a tornado. You keep safe and keep us updated. Did I tell y'all about the time I had to sit in the cockpit of a B-47 bomber and hold the brakes on, with my feet, in the midst of a Kansas tornado? I couldn't see further than 4ft and the plane was bouncing and shaking and I was waiting for an explosion at any moment. There was 100,000 pounds of jet fuel and an H-Bomb onboard! Luckily there wasn't any incident and I'm here to tell about it. __ 'S'

Sorry for the delay but 'my cable was out' for 14hrs.
I attempted to send several pm's (you know who you are) but the power kept interrupting. (before the cable went dead)
.. Actually FAY has been rather mild here.
All day yesterday there was a constant light drizzle, mild winds and, of course, a dark sky.
We took a ride around and the only storm damage seen were dead palm fonds all over the place.
Today has been pretty much the same as yesterday except there was one storm cell that lasted about an hour and is gone now.
.. Currently the sky is brightening up but still no sun.
I expect that the worse is over.
... I'm rested up now and ready to go ...
;D I ain't dead yet scratch ...

I'm happy to report that FAY has left the area and that we had sunshine today for the first time in several days. The temperature has increased and the foliage is going to grow by leaps & bounds now. It's 'Ho Hum' time in Daytona once again. C'Ya __ 'S'
