Ever spend any time sitting in the backyard watching jets fly overhead and wonder how high they are or where they are going? Well now you can find out. The next time you see one fly over, determine its direction. Then go to flightaware.com and put in the name of your city which will give you an overhead map of your area. On this map you will see every plane in the sky above you, its tail number, flight number, altitude, where it originated and where its going as well as its speed. My wife thinks its lame but I get a real kick out of it. I know "I need to get a life". You can also track by carrier, plane type, etc. Fascinating to me to see just how many planes are above the US at any given moment.

A belated 'WELCOME ABOARD' Wayfarer ...
That's a neat site .. Thanks for sharing it.
I recall seeing a site that had an active 24hr display of all flights over the USA and other parts of the world.
Do you possibly have a link for that one too?
Having been in the USAF (1956-1960) and aircraft mfg. I find aeronautical subjects interesting. __ 'S'

I am a Commercial Pilot, and if they are going from the SW to the NE right over Greenville, they are between approx. 35-41,000 ft. on jet airway J-14,which goes from HOU-ATL-GSO and upwards.
